Server move completed... I hope.
Once I'm comfortable that we are good to go, I will begin posting more IA on AI and Post-Play'em.
Enjoy!

Intrinsic Algorithm News Monday, May 12, 2008 Server move completed... I hope.
Well, I just got notified that our server move was completed (5 weeks later than it was supposed to be) and the DNS was cut over to the new address. It looks like everything is where it's supposed to be. Let's just hope that the server stays up and doing what it is supposed to do... serve!

Friday, May 9, 2008 Even more site problems
Ok folks, I know this is getting old. I have been having horrible problems with my ISP since early April. I won't name the ISP yet, but you can look it up for yourself, I suppose. I have been with this company for 6 years and things started fairly well. However, in recent years, especially since a buyout, things have been a little more dicey. Well, this latest issue has to do with a server move gone awry. If the issue persists, I won't hesitate to name them... at about the same time as I go shopping for a new ISP - something I don't want to have to waste time doing.
Because the site has been up and down for 5 weeks, I've been a little hesitant about posting. I have plenty of material I want to put on IA on AI and have been wanting to start putting some new observations on Post-Play'em. I have been assured that the ISP issue will be solved soon (although I was told that over a month ago). However, I think that I may just start writing some of this material anyway. Since I use Blogger, everything is stored on their site first anyway. It wouldn't take me much to republish if I were to lose things. Anyway, for those of you who have been checking the blogs and finding only errors, I apologize. I appreciate your loyalty nonetheless. Thank you, Dave Mark Labels: IA on AI, Post-Play'em, web site
Monday, April 21, 2008 Web site troubles
The IA site was down over this past weekend due to an error encountered during a server move at our ISP. Hopefully, we have seen the last of the outages.
Thanks for your patience. Labels: web site
Wednesday, April 2, 2008 Web site is back online
Ok... it was never really down down - but at least I can change things and know that the changes will stick. There's a few blog posts I need to make and you can all feel free to use the forums once again.
Thanks for any patience that you may have had to exhibit! Labels: web site
Wednesday, March 26, 2008 Web host upgrade = site freeze
We just got notified that our web host is upgrading some software on our server this weekend. One of the effects of this is that there will be a content freeze between Thursday, March 27th and Monday, March 31st. I will have to assume that this means that blog entries and comments and all message board posts that are made during that period will be lost on Monday. Therefore, I will not be posting anything during this coming weekend either here, IA on AI, or Post-Play'em. Also, please don't frustrate yourself by making a comment or posting on the message board as I can't guarantee that it will survive.
I hope this isn't frustrating and that all goes well. I'm sure I will have something to say come early next week - so remember to subscribe to the RSS feeds (I'm sure that part still works!). Thanks for your patience and patronage!
Friday, March 21, 2008 Minor site redesign
I took a bit of time to tweak the site some. I had it set at a width of 700 pixels before (for the 800x600 crowd) but my stats have been saying that a very small sample of people are running less than 1024x768. I really wanted to use the extra real estate to put things like the blog headlines up. The width is now at 950.
Eventually, I will be modifying the blog templates to be more in line with the overall site. I'm not necessarily looking forward to that project, however. Let me know if you have any problems with the contents of the new pages. If you are a regular visitor to Intrinsic Algorithm, I would also love your feedback on the new look. Thanks! Labels: web site
